When you're looking for a beautiful and luxurious three-row SUV for your family, there are a fair number of options. The Grand Wagoneer is a newcomer to the luxury-SUV market in Santa Monica, CA, but it's already proving itself against some heavy hitters. With unique styling, off-road capability and a luxurious cabin, it's easy to see why it's such a hit at Santa Monica Chrysler Jeep Dodge And Ram. Still, let's take a closer look at how it compares to the well-established Lincoln Navigator.
Engine and Performance
When you look at these two SUVs' engines, you'll quickly see that the Grand Wagoneer comes with a 6.4-liter V8 that's capable of producing up to 471 horsepower, while the Navigator's 3.5-liter V6 only manages 440 horsepower. It's not a big difference, but fans of strong SUVs might just notice the difference.
Something else we'd like to point out is that the Grand Wagoneer comes standard with four-wheel drive in every trim. If you pick up a Lincoln Navigator, though, you'll have to make sure to get that 4x4 drivetrain if you want to maximize traction around Santa Monica, CA and on the trails.
Interior
Being luxury vehicles, their cabins are full of comfort and convenience features for you to enjoy. With that being said, it may surprise you to find out that the base Navigator doesn't come with leather seating. The Grand Wagoneer has Nappa-leather upholstery on the base Series I trim, with Palermo and quilted Palermo leather available on its higher trims. You will, however, find leather-wrapped steering wheels in both models.
Both luxury SUVs have heated and ventilated front seats standard, but when it comes to maintaining your ideal temperature, you'll have more flexibility in the Grand Wagoneer. It comes with a four-zone automatic climate control system, while the Navigator only offers tri-zone automatic climate control.
Technology
With these two top-of-the-line SUVs, it's no surprise that they both come with some incredible technology. Both come with 12-inch digital instrument clusters, large infotainment touchscreens - with the Grand Wagoneer's being just slightly smaller than the Navigator's - and premium audio systems.
These audio systems do differ, though. The Lincoln Navigator comes with a 14-speaker Revel® audio system, which sounds impressive. However, the Grand Wagoneer comes with a 19-speaker McIntosh® audio system, and higher trims come with an upgraded, 23-speaker system. If you want a better audio experience in the Navigator, that's only an option, and not standard, on the Navigator Reserve.
While the instrument cluster and infotainment displays up front are very similar, the Lincoln Navigator is missing a rear entertainment system. The Grand Wagoneer offers two 10.1-inch rear entertainment screens as part of its Rear Seat Video Group package, which is available on every trim. You can also add a 10.25-inch Front Passenger Interactive Display, which gives the front passenger access not only to entertainment options like the rear seats get but also vehicle controls for media and navigation so that they can act as a copilot as you drive through Santa Monica, CA.
Safety
You'll enjoy standard driver-assist features like a 360-degree surround view camera, forward collision warning with active braking and adaptive cruise control with stop and go no matter which luxury SUV you pick. However, features like Drowsy Driver Detection and Night Vision with Pedestrian and Animal Detection are only available on the Grand Wagoneer.
Both the Grand Wagoneer and the Lincoln Navigator are superb examples of what a luxury SUV should be, but, as you can see, the Grand Wagoneer has more to offer. If you'd like a closer look at any of its features that we've mentioned, we invite you to visit us at Santa Monica Chrysler Jeep Dodge And Ram to explore it in person. We'd be happy to take you for a test drive, too!
